KidOasis OCTOBER Newsletter

Happy Fall Y’all! Thank you for taking time to read this month’s newsletter! Packed with plenty of mumbo jumbo to keep you up to date and in the loop of what we have going on this month!

Starting with the typical reminders…

PLEASE update your child’s spare clothes bins! Be sure your child has size and weather appropriate clothes and don’t forget the socks! Also because we have outside time in the mornings, the children will all still need a sweatshirt, no matter what they say the high will be later in the day. If you would like to start bringing a light hat etc, be sure to LABEL!

Thank to you to EVERYONE that provided me with their child’s immunization records before the end of the week! Impressive!! As a reward, the kids will be attending a special day of play on Tuesday and will enjoy a special snack!

Please remember to close the gate behind you when you arrive and depart! Those that have been with me for a few years know how many times Joel has had to replace the gate and hardware due to it blowing in the wind etc! Thanks for your attention with that! I know it’s not an easy latch now, but very few of the kids can get it open, so mission accomplished! Just remember to LIFT as you open!

A reminder to please make your payments ontime! A late fee of $5 per day beginning Tuesday at noon will be added to your balance. If payment for the week has not been made by Friday, your child may not attend on Monday unless payment is up to date. If at that time I have not received payment by Tuesday at noon, your child’s spot will be filled. Another way to add a fee is to arrive after 530 pm! A charge of $2 per MINUTE begins to accrue after 530pm and is due at the time of pick up! I really hate enforcing these policies, so please respect that this is my career and my family finances and providing what is needed for the daycare, rely on my income. Also leaving your children here past 530 takes away from my family time, as well as your own with your child. Last minor requests also, since our bank charges for a “business” account, please make your checks out to Cindy Thomas rather than KidOasis. Feel free to memo KidOasis if you need that for your own records!

Dates to plug into your calendars!

Tuesday Oct 4th we will be riding the bus (Ecotrans) to Sechler Park at 10am for a Day at Play sponsored by the Outreach staff of Child Care resource and referral. This FREE event is for all daycare providers and their children for an hour of fun and Games! Be sure to dress your child in comfortable clothes and shoes! (and a sweatshirt clearly labeled!)

MEA is Thurs 10/20 and 10/21. If your schoolager will be attending KidOasis those days, please let me know ASAP so I can staff accordingly!

Happy Birthday to Mia(5) on 10/20 and Michaela (3) on 10/22! We look forward to making your bday memorable at Daycare on your special day!

KidOasis will be closed Friday Oct 28th as an UNPAID Personal Day and also Monday Oct 31st as a Paid Personal Day. In the past when Halloween has fallen on a week day, parents have asked me to get their children prepared for Trick or Treating, putting them in costumes, doing hair/make up and even asked me to feed them supper. Unfortunately I feel those are unreasonable requests of me, esp when I have my own 3 children to dress and feed so that we may also go trick or treating at a decent hour! I have chosen to take Halloween off so that hopefully children can get out and about earlier and wind down for a good night’s rest at a reasonable hour! A house full of sugared up overtired children is not as fun as it sounds!

We will be having a Halloween Party on Tues Nov 1st since the last day of daycare before the big day is Thursday.. that’s a lot of days of answering “when do I get to wear my costume again??” Children can get one more wear out of the costume for the year at our Party, which will include games, silly songs and books, Witches Brew and sharing our Trick Or treating stories!

I wanted to share a great website with all of you that I use often!

www.tots2do.com It’s a great local resource for all of the fun things to do with your children and must see events! I hope you will check it out!

I saved the best news for last!! We sadly said goodbye to Kaycee at the end of the summer, as she took on a full time position with another job. Well I am so very happy to announce that she has returned and will be working everyday for a few hours! We are an amazing team and have a great time with the kids together! She loves the children very much and I cant even describe the excitement when I told them she was returning! Because Kaycee has already been through licensing, she is able to be alone with the kids, which allows me more flexibility with the twins and school functions, along with splitting the group for younger and older separate activities. We have been limited on walks etc because of so many younger children that require riding in a wagon or stroller! I need to invest in a small bus!

Thank you for reading this far and I apologize for the length of this month’s newsletter!

We look forward to a busy month on the Activity Calendars (be sure to post them somewhere you will check daily!!!) also looking forward to welcoming our new infant at the end of the month for visits before beginning full time in Nov! Baby Jaden visited in Sept with mom and we just fell in love with them both!! Teddy and Jaden will be great friends and Leo will have to teach these younger boys about surviving so many girls at daycare!

Thank you for your time and remember…….. Our communication is the KEY to your child’s success! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns! Especially when the concerns are about your child! We all want to be on the same page!
